Spring is a time for new growth in our gardens. It can also be a time for personal growth as well.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on volunteers all year long. But volunteering is so much more than donating time—it's about forging new connections, making friends, and enriching lives.
Whether it's spending time with seniors on a phone call, delivering meals to a homebound senior, or organizing advocacy and fundraising activities to raise awareness, our volunteers positively impact thousands of seniors throughout DuPage and Kane Counties.
Join us this spring. Whether you're a student, a professional, or simply someone who likes being with others, there's a place for you in our organization.
Reach out to us today and we will share with you some of the many opportunities we have available to help you get involved.
Get your friends together. DuPage Senior Citizens Council presents the Second Annual Golf Classic fundraiser on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Cantigny Golf Course.
You can support seniors through this event by purchasing a sponsorship or just signing up your foursome.
Whether you are a business in Kane or DuPage County or someone who loves golf and helping others, this is a fun way to get involved in your community.
Many organizations serving older adults don't have much experience with those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender which can lead to discrimination, or receiving subpar treatment from health and elder care providers. When this happens, they can avoid care or hide their sexual orientation or gender identity.
We recognize this and take active steps to serve seniors in this population.
One of those initiatives includes our annual SAGECare certification. We are fully trained and equipped to address the needs of the LGBT+ community.
When people think about volunteering with us, they often consider delivering meals to homebound seniors.
But there are many other ways to donate your time and skills to serve others including connecting with seniors through programs like friendly phone calls and helping them clean up their yards in the spring and fall.
If networking is your superpower, we have opportunities to help us fundraise and advocate for seniors.

Helping Seniors
Clocks Turn Back on March 10.
While "Springing Forward" can be difficult for all of us, it can be especially hard for seniors.
For seniors, changing sleep patterns can increase their chance of making mistakes with their medications and even increase their risk of falling.
Be sure to check on older adults during this time
