November is National Family Caregivers Month!

This month, we honor the commitment of caregivers across the country who dedicate themselves to supporting loved ones.

Did you know that nearly 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. provides unpaid care, often while balancing full-time jobs, families, and personal commitments?

Caregivers come from all walks of life – from adult children caring for aging parents to spouses, friends, and even young people supporting family members with disabilities.

Each caregiver’s journey is unique, yet they all share an incredible resilience and compassion that deserves our gratitude and support.

At DSCC and KSC, we recognize the vital role caregivers play and the challenges they face daily. In our latest article, we dive deeper into the statistics behind caregiving, explore the variety of caregiving roles, and share how our services Meals on Wheels, Friendly Visits and Phone Calls, Minor Home Repairs, and other services ease the load for those caring for older adults.

Introducing Adopt-A-Route

Have you been looking for a meaningful way to volunteer with your team or colleagues?

We created our Adopt-A-Route program to make it easy for businesses, groups, and organizations to give back together.

The program allows teams to share the responsibility of delivering meals to seniors in need, bringing both nutritious food and vital human connection to those who may feel isolated.

With flexible scheduling, each volunteer can take turns on the route—even fitting it into a lunch hour—making it simple and convenient to participate.

Restaurant Program

Our Senior Dine restaurant program is designed to bring seniors together for delicious meals in a welcoming and social setting.

This program is more than just dining – it’s about creating connections, fostering friendships, and enjoying the experience of gathering with others in the community.

By partnering with local restaurants, we’re able to offer seniors access to great food and a comfortable space to engage with friends old and new.

It’s also a wonderful way for community restaurants to connect with local seniors and show support for the people who make our community strong.
