DSCC Connection

Strengthening Connections,
One Act at a Time

At DSCC and KSC, connection is at the heart of everything we do. This includes connecting seniors to meals, safety, and companionship; connecting volunteers and businesses to meaningful ways to give back; and connecting communities through shared purpose.

This month’s newsletter is filled with stories of connection in action. From our annual Golf Outing that brought together local organizations to fund essential services, to the volunteers who continue to show up in both quiet and impactful ways, these moments remind us that none of this happens alone.

You’ll also find opportunities to get involved or reconnect - whether that’s signing up to deliver meals, joining us at a Senior Dance Party, or simply sharing our mission with someone who might want to help.

Because while needs continue to grow, so does the power of a connected community.

And every action, no matter how small, keeps that connection strong.

DSCC FUNDRAISING AND DONATIONS

DSCC Champions For Charity

On July 16, we hosted our 3rd Annual Champions for Charity Golf Outing.

This event is more than just a fundraiser, it’s one of the best ways DSCC and KSC connect with local businesses, community leaders, and organizations who care about making a difference right here in DuPage and Kane Counties. Events like these help raise critical funds for the meals, wellness checks, and support services our seniors depend on.

As the demand for our programs continues to grow, we rely on these events to fill the gaps left by limited grant funding and individual donations. The need is rising but so is the generosity of our community.

A heartfelt thank-you to our sponsors for stepping up and showing what community support looks like in action.

Check out our DSCC Facebook or Instagram Page to see photos from the event.

If you'd like to volunteer for next year's event (Committee Member, Day of Event Volunteer, Gather Donated Items for Raffle), please let us know by visiting our Volunteer Page.

UPCOMING SENIOR EVENTS

KSC Dance Party

The next KSC Senior Dance Party is coming up on August 21.

The Senior Dance Parties are more than a chance to move and mingle. They bring joy, connection, and vitality to seniors through music, dancing, and community interaction.

Whether it’s a favorite old tune or a new friendship formed on the dance floor, these moments lift spirits and remind us all of the power of joy at any age.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers are the heart of DSCC & KCS. Every meal delivered, every check-in call, every decorated bag is a reminder that someone cares. For many seniors, that small act of kindness may be the only connection they have that day.

As summer ends and schedules shift, we’re always in need of helping hands.

Whether you’re new to DSCC/KSC or have served with us before, there’s a place for you to make an impact on your time, in your way.

Where Your Help Is Needed

  • Deliver Meals to Seniors (weekday routes available)
  • Make Friendly Phone Calls
