Today is Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity. Support DSCC to provide vital services for seniors in DuPage and Kane Counties. Together, we can make a meaningful impact—because giving with purpose changes lives.
Today is Giving Tuesday, a global movement of generosity that encourages people to make a difference in their communities. It’s a day to pause, reflect, and take action to support causes that matter most to you.
We know your inbox is probably full of requests for donations today, but we’re reaching out because you already know and believe in DSCC and our life-changing work. You receive these newsletters because you care about seniors in DuPage and Kane Counties and the vital services they rely on—like well-being checks, nutritious meals, and companionship.
The need for these services grows every day. Over the past five years, the senior population has increased significantly:
In DuPage County, seniors now make up 18% of the population, growing from 154,000 to over 165,000 residents aged 65+.
In Kane County, nearly 83,000 seniors now rely on services, a rise of over 5% since 2018.
With this growth comes an urgent need for more resources to ensure that seniors in our community feel cared for and connected. Your support can make a direct impact.
By supporting us, you’re not just giving to a trusted organization you already know—you’re joining others who are Giving With Purpose and making a difference right in your community.
Whether choosing to make a one-time gift, set up a recurring donation, or volunteer your time, your generosity today brings care, comfort, and connection to seniors who depend on us throughout the year.
Thank you for participating on this special day of giving!
Winter weather can be unpredictable. That's why ensuring seniors receive meals becomes critical. Snow, ice, and severe weather can sometimes make daily meal deliveries challenging, but our Shelf Stable Program ensures no senior goes without a meal.
When the forecast looks rough, our dedicated volunteers step in to deliver packs of frozen and shelf-stable meals directly to seniors before the bad weather hits. These meals provide essential nourishment, giving peace of mind to both seniors and their families, even when the roads are less than ideal.
This program is not only vital for seniors—it’s also a unique opportunity for volunteers. If you’d like to help but can’t commit to a regular delivery route, volunteering with the Shelf Stable Program is a meaningful way to make a difference during these colder months.

For many of our seniors, their pets mean the world to them, but caring for a pet can sometimes add stress to their lives. That’s why our Pet Food & Assistance Program exists—to help seniors who need support in caring for their beloved companions.
Through donations of pet food, supplies, or monetary contributions, we provide essential items to ease their worries. Our volunteers deliver these supplies directly to seniors, allowing them to focus on what matters most: loving their trusted companions. You can even purchase food from our Amazon Wish list.
The Kane Senior Council thanks the Geneva Community Chest for their generous donation of $9,800 to support our Meals on Wheels program.
This incredible contribution directly provides nutritious meals to seniors in Kane County, ensuring they receive the food and care they need. The Meals on Wheels program not only delivers meals but also creates meaningful connections with seniors, reducing isolation and improving their quality of life.
The Kane Senior Council values the Geneva Community Chest’s dedication to the local community and their commitment to making a positive impact. Together, they make a difference in the lives of seniors every day.
Recently, Dr. Claire Leegard from Home Helpers of Wheaton & Naperville visited our Aurora Community Dining program to share an insightful presentation on dementia and Parkinson’s prevention.
Those attending enjoyed a delicious lunch and gained valuable health & wellness information.
We invite members of our community to share their expertise to help our seniors.
